FINAL VERSE

Death has no hold on the poet
Remember when I told you we're free
When you find a quiet moment to ponder
Remember me, remember my poetry
I was fire and ice, I was water
I was wind that denied to be tamed
I was gentle, compassionate, angry
I was Villanelle, haiku, refrain
The shadow of death falls not upon me
No veil or curtain can hide
I'm a poet in death as in living
The end of my life but a lie
I was a poet the day I was born
To my last poet's breathe whilst dying
A final poem I leave to be read as you mourn
To comfort you, please stop your crying
Remember me, remember my vision
How my eye's witnessed diamonds of dew
I witnessed sights that defied time and motion
I found answer's where some had no clue
Catch in the word's of this poet
On the breeze, the scent of my end
This poet's farewell as I journey
A poet's last kiss to a friend
Don't search for my essence in soil
I poetically conquered the grave
By each word, every line, every poem
In the poetry I left you to save
Death has no hold on this Poet
There's still plenty for me to do
Remember me, remember my poetry
And you'll see my death was just poetry too!
